AC Milan have announced Filippo Inzaghi will take charge of their first team next season, replacing the departing Clarence Seedorf. Milan made the move official on Monday, signing the former rossoneri star to a two-year contractthrough 2016.

Clarence Seedorf has been sacked by AC Milan, and been replaced by youth coach and club legend Filippo Inzaghi.

Despite results improving after Seedorf took over from Massimiliano Allegri midway through the current campaign, tensions with director Adriano Galliani and president Silvio Berlusconi had grown irreconcilable, leading to Inzaghi being drafted in.
The 40-year-old played over 200 times for AC Milan in a decade wearing the rossoneri shirt. Since retiring he's been in charge of Milan's Allievi Nazionale and Primavera youth teams, though, as was the case with Seedorf, this is his first senior coaching post. It's undoubtedly another risk taken by the Milan hierarchy, who were rumoured to have been interested in hiring coaching veterans Unai Emery and Roberto Donadoni as well as the rookie Inzaghi.
It’s certainly a tough job for a man of such little experience -- Milan finished eighth in Serie A last season; their lowest league finish since Fabio Capello led them to 10th place in 1998.
