World Cup gear watch: Netherlands 0-0 (2-4 on penalties) Argentina

For the first time in the tournament, both Argentina and the Netherlands were allowed to wear their traditional colors, having been forced to match shorts and shirt before the semifinals. The Dutch had typically worn white shorts with their orange shirts while Argentina would usually play in black shorts. Before this match, it seemed as though FIFA had mandated that one team wear a light kit and the other wear dark in order to avoid any possibility of a kit clash.
The Dutch looked sensational in their orange and white kits, as did Argentina in their white, sky blue, and black numbers, at least when talking about the kits on display. The match was in a lull for much of the 120 minutes before the inherent drama of the penalty shootout kicked in.
The Boots

There is no shortage of players that participated in the 2014 World Cup wearing Nike's Tiempo V boots. We've seen a number of different colorways that range from a classy and understated white & blue, to the launch red & white on the the feet of a few like Ron Vlaar, to the Volt pair that many are confusing for the Magista boot from a distance on the feet of the vast majority of Tiempo wearers at the tournament.
It was the Aston Villa man's Dutch teammate, Stefan de Vrij, that would provide the match's key spot, also wearing a pair of Tiempo Legends. The defender, de Vrij, wore a classic-looking black & white pair of the boots. Stefan de Vrij has worn them throughout the tournament and expect him to wear the boots again at the weekend.
