AC Milan confirm negotiations with Orlando City for Robinho transfer
Adriano Galliani says Robinho wants to go to MLS, but that a deal isn’t close yet.

AC Milan held a press conference to announce four new signings on Friday, but CEO Adriano Galliani also ended up discussing Robinho, who has been close to the exit door at the San Siro for quite some time.
Since his former Brazil and Milan teammate Kaka signed for Orlando City in MLS, Robinho has been linked to that club, and Galliani confirmed that negotiations between Milan and the MLS expansion club are ongoing.
“Robinho wants to go to MLS. The negotiations with Orlando have begun. They want Robinho, but we’re not close to concluding the deal. The relationship with Robinho remains excellent though and it is just one of the many negotiations that are ongoing.”
While it makes sense for Galliani to do some posturing and negotiating to get some kind of fee out of Orlando, the reality is that Milan probably just want to get his wages off the books. Robinho hasn’t been first choice for the rossoneri for quite some time, but he’s paid like a superstar. Expect this deal to wrap up before the Serie A season gets underway.
