Arsenal colorways for evoSPEED and evoPOWER boots emerge from the mist

Last week, Puma and Arsenal unveiled a trio of new kits that really symbolized the beginning of a five-year partnership between the two parties. The kits were just the start of it as Puma unveiled a second category of Arsenal gear without making a major fuss about it at all.

They were hiding in plain sight at the Carnaby Street event in London. With three Puma athletes in Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta, and Mathieu Flamini wearing the new strips in public for the first time, the players also wore two special pairs of boots on their feet. The boots, which were the newly-unveiled evoSPEED 1.3 and the evoPOWER, came in a special Gunners version of the Puma Tricks colorway that made a splash at this summer's World Cup.

Both the evoPOWER and evoSPEED (left and right above, respectively) feature a white boot on the right foot and red on the left. The evoPOWER flips the color of the body from white to red and vice versa for the Puma cat that climbs up the instep at the toe and the tongue matches the color. The lace color is matched to the main color of the boot while the instep on both shoes features a deep blue element. Arsenal's traditional yellow color appears on the studs.

The evoSPEED has many of the same attributes as the evoPOWER in terms of design but features touches tailored to the silo. On the instep of both boots is the oversized “PUMA” wordmark that is made up smaller versions of the same logo. The mark on the right boot fades from red to blue as you move from the front to the back of the boot while on the left, it moves from white to the same blue. The yellow that appears on the evoPOWER is present on the outsole of the evoSPEED.

The boots will be worn by the likes of Arteta, Cazorla, Flamini, Olivier Giroud, and Tomas Rosicky over the first few weeks of Arsenal's 2014/15 season.
