AS Roma have completed the signing of Juan Manuel Iturbe from Hellas Verona for a fee believed to be around €28.5 million. The Argentine talent has signed a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

AS Roma have signed talented Argentine playmaker Juan Iturbe from Hellas Verona.

Iturbe shot to prominence with an outstanding debut season in Italy after arriving at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi last season. On loan from Porto, the playmaker managed to finally find his feet at Verona and demonstrate why he was once dubbed the “new Lionel Messi.” Verona were so impressed they signed him permanently for around €15 million in May, and have since turned him over to Roma for a handy profit.
The Argentine should be a very valuable asset for the giallorossi next season, with his attacking versatility meaning he could play anywhere across Rudi Garcia’s front three. He also adds much-needed depth, with Roma back in the Champions League after their second-place Serie A finish last season.
