Diego Valeri’s 30-yard blast sends Timbers to victory

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

This has not been the year the Portland Timbers had been expecting. But Diego Valeri may have just sent it going in a different direction.

The Argentinian's 30-yard blast gave the Timbers a late lead and eventually a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on Friday. It was an absolutely beautiful strike, even if the defense was a little on the lax side.

But what this video will probably be remembered for is the rather copious amount of Caleb Porter that is featured. He does not look like a coach who's expecting his team to surge ahead does he?

Unfortunately, we do not get a reaction to the goal, though.

Based on his reaction following the game, Porter was quite aware that the Timbers had won just once at home this year.
