Jurgen Klinsmann "allowed" Tim Howard to have two beers following the United States' loss to Belgium in the World Cup's Round of 16. If you're looking for real insight from his Wednesday evening Facebook Q&A, that's about as deep as it got. Still, we wanted to round up some of the highlights from the session, which appears to have included nearly 8,000 questions and just 16 answers.

There were mostly predictable answers. Klinsmann is hopeful Julian Green can break into the Bayern Munich first team; that the United States' fortunes might have been different if Jozy Altidore had been able to play; and that the best thing a young soccer player can do is "kick the ball around," "be creative with your friends" and "practice."
When asked how to best support US Soccer moving forward, Klinsmann threw a bone to MLS, a league he has sometimes maligned: “Keep supporting us at every game. Keep watching us at upcoming competitions and supporting your local MLS team.”
Speaking of support, Klinsmann said he was "overwhelmed" by how much the United States received in Brazil.
Klinsmann's favorite moment from the tournament, was perhaps unsurprisingly, was in the only game the United States actually won: "John Brooks goal against Ghana. It was a great moment for him and the team."
The closest thing to a controversial question Klinsmann fielded was about Chris Wondolowski’s miss. On the ESPN broadcast, it was originally suggested that the assistant referee had raised his flag signaling offside. But the tactical camera angle showed that the AR was actually signaling for a goal kick after the attempt was fired over the crossbar. Klinsmann, though, is apparently going with the version that might allow him to sleep a little better.
“It was a total roller coaster, but I saw the linesman signaling for offside -- which it wasn’t! Imagine if it would have went it [sic] and he called offside...”
