Juventus confirmed on Monday the much rumored transfer of Patrice Evra to the defending Serie A champions. Evra leaves Manchester United for a £1.2 million fee, with an additional £300k going to the Red Devils should Juve qualify for the 2015-16 Champions League.

The French international defender has completed a move from Manchester United to the Serie A champions.

Evra joined United in 2006 from Monaco, and has spent the past the last eight seasons as a regular at left-back for the English club. During his team in Manchester, Evra helped lead the team to five Premier League titles, three league cups, and the 2008 Champions League.
The club had excersied a contract option on Evra at the end of last season, but said they would not prevent him from moving on his he decided to do so.
Evra said goodbye to United fans with a message on the club’s official website:
“After a great deal of thought I have decided the time is right for me to leave Manchester United. It is the biggest decision of my career as this club is, and will always remain, in my heart.”
The defender has agreed to a two-year contract with Juve, reportedly worth £55,000 per week.
