Olmes Garcia has a bit of a reputation; for diving, embellishing and generally making the absolute most out any amount of contact. On Wednesday it caught up to him in an unfortunate way.
RSL forward carded for getting his junk grabbed
Reputations sometimes precede themselves.

The Real Salt Lake forward had been going back and forth with New York Red Bulls defender Jamison Olave most of the match. And following a play in which Garcia tried to draw a penalty, he and Olave started jawing. While walking back toward midfield, Olave reached down and certainly appeared to give Garcia a squeeze in a rather sensitive area. Here's what the cameras caught:
Although Olave was a bit lucky not to receive a red card, it was actually Garcia who got punished as referee Mark Geiger eventually gave a yellow for embellishment.
The good news, if you choose to look at that way, is Olave will almost certainly be punished by the MLS Disciplinary Committee. Clint Dempsey committed a similar offense earlier this year and got a two-game suspension. Olave surely has something similar coming.
But this also serves as “Boy Who Cried Wolf”-type of lesson. Garcia’s reputation seems to have preceded itself here.
