After all the upsets and surprising results from the group stages, two teams many expected to be in the semifinals will meet in Belo Horizonte as Germany takes on Brazil for a spot in the final.
If Brazil are going to continue their march towards a title that's all but expected by the nation, they'll have to do with without Neymar and Thiago Silva. The dynamic Barcelona striker fractured a vertebrae in Brazil's quarterfinal win over Colombia during a collision with Juan Zuñiga. Head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has multiple options to replace Neymar including Willian, Bernard, Oscar and Hernanes.

Team captain and central defender, Silva will be suspended for the match after picking up his second yellow of the competition against Colombia. Without Silva, Dante is expected to be the man who starts on the back line.
Germany were boorishly efficient in their 1-0 win over France in the quarterfinals, suffocating the French attack over 90 minutes to earn their spot in the semifinals. While it wasn't much to watch for a neutral perspective, Germany's dominating defense certainly makes them look like a team capable of shutting down Brazil, especially with Neymar out.
Per Mertesacker is the latest German player to be dealing with an illness, and his status remains up in the air for Tuesday. Shkodran Mustafi is out for the tournament with a hamstring injury
