Dagenham and Redbridge met Brentford in an all-important Capital One Cup first round. And it was so important that neither team decided to play defense.

The two teams combined for eight goals in regulation, then four more in extra time as they played to a 6-6 draw. Finally, Brentford came out on top in penalties, 4-2, as they scored half as many on kicks from the spot as they did in 120 minutes.
Following the match, both managers spent an hour teaching their teams how to spell “defend.”
