Cows on the pitch!

Dogs, cats, squirrels, a chicken ... to this fine and noble list of pitch-invading animals we can now add “a herd of cows”. Welcome to the Copa Peru 2014, which is already more fun than any cup competition you might be planning to watch.

We’re torn on our favourite part. Is it the two dogs that trot onto the field but nobody cares, because cows? Is it the referee, officiously holding his had up to stop any player that might find themselves overcome with the urge to charge the beasts? Or is it the two cows that stop their stately march across the field to indulge in a moment’s head-rubbing?

No, it’s the late cow that strolls along after all the rest. “Oh, hi guys. Don’t stop playing on my account. Have you seen my friends ... oh, there they are. Have a good one!”
