The DFB-Pokal first round gave us big clubs advancing, incredible drama and great upsets. It was perfect. And then it got more perfect thanks to Fabian Klos’ incredible volley.
Fabian Klos scores incredible goal on 20-yard volley

To run a set play like that is idiotic. You have a corner kick and you’re going to hit it 20 yards from goal, hoping that a shot can make its way through traffic and onto goal, assuming he can get the shot away altogether. The odds of that are miniscule, and definitely way worse than the odds of connecting on a header. Those odds get even longer when you try to make it work on the volley.
But those odds don’t take into account that Klos will be hitting the volley, new master of the volley.
Klos > math.
