Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid: Lineups

Here’s the lineups for the first leg of the 2014 Spanish Super Cup.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time since last season's Champions League final Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid meet with yet another cup on the line. This time, it's the Spanish Super Cup, though with this being a two-leg affair, no silverware will be handed out yet. Here's how the two teams will lineup.

Carlo Ancelotti decided to go with Iker Casillas in goal over Keylor Navas, possibly signaling that Casillas will once against serve as Real Madrid's "cup" goalkeeper this season. Gareth Bale overcame some injury concerns to make the start, alongside his usual attack partners Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Toni Kroos gets the start in the midfield, along with Xabi Alonso.

Atlético Madrid features several new faces after summer departures forced Diego Simeone to re-tool a bit. Miguel Ángel Moya is the new goalkeeper, taking over for Thibaut Courtois who returned to Chelsea. The Blues also purchased Diego Costa and Felipe Luis, so we get the debuts of their replacements, striker Mario Mandžukić and fullback Guilherme Siqueira.

Real Madrid starting lineup (4-3-3): Iker Casillas; Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Xabi Alonso, Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić; Cristiano, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale.

Atlético Madrid starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Miguel Ángel Moya; Juanfran, Joào Miranda, Diego Godín, Guilherme Siqueira; Mario Suárez, Gabi; Koke, Saúl Ñiguez, Raúl García; Mario Mandžukić.
