The French international midfielder will leave Marseille, after agreeing to a three-year deal with Dynamo Moscow.

Mathieu Valbuena is leaving Olympique de Marseille for Russia after agreeing to a three-year deal with Dynamo Moscow. The transfer fee for the switch is reportedly in the vicinity of €7 million.

Valbuena’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes had denied the deal just over a week ago after several media outlets reported the transfer as completed. He went so far as to call the reports “bulls**t” according to Eurosport.

So much that.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder has been with Marseille since 2006, and this will be the first time he’s played his club football outside of France. During his time with Olympique, he made 227 appearances, netting 25 goals.

He had been linked with a possible move to West Ham United or Queen Park Rangers.
