Neymar's bad injury luck continued on Friday when Barcelona announced the Brazilian striker will miss the team's La Liga opener against Elche with a sprained ankle. The team broke the news on its official website.
Neymar to miss Barcelona’s La Liga opener with ankle injury
The Brazilian striker suffered a sprained ankle in training and will sit out the team’s match against Elche.

Following the Thursday training session Neymar Jr. complained about some pain in his left ankle, and tests have confirmed that the player has a Grade 1 ankle sprain. The Club’s medical team has indicated that his return to training will depend on how the injury treatment evolves.
Neymar had just finished recovering from a broken vertebrae suffered at the World Cup, and will now miss at least a week depending on how his ankle reacts to treatment. Chances are he'll be forced to miss Barca's next match as well against Villarreal on August 31.
It's a disappointing blow for new head coach Luis Enrique who had watched his talented goalscorer score twice in Barca's 6-0 win over León in their final preseason match.
