Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez have been rotating during the Spanish Super Cup and preseason, but just like they did in the UEFA Super Cup, they'll take the pitch together for Real Madrid's league opener on Monday. Xabi Alonso has been dropped, meaning Madrid are playing just two true central midfielders. Their lineup has been listed as a 4-3-3 in some places, but they previously played 4-4-2 with this personnel.
Real Madrid vs. Cordoba: Lineups
Cordoba are debuting new signing Mike Havenaar, a Japanese international target man, in addition to a number of loanees. They’ll probably play through their wingers -- a couple of young, quick players -- and look to cross to Havenaar.
Real Madrid lineup (4-4-2): Iker Casillas; Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Arvalo Arbeloa; James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale; Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema
Cordoba lineup (4-2-3-1): Juan Carlos; Jose Crespo, Iñigo Lopez, Aleksandar Pantic, Adrian Gunino; Aritz Garai, Fausto Rossi; Daniel Pinillos, Lopez Silva, Ryder Matos; Mike Havenaar
Kickoff is at 2 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. local time. You can catch the game on beIN Sports in the U.S. and Canada, and on Sky Sports 5 in the UK.
