Blame the Sporting KC-Houston Dynamo delay on the apocalypse

The match was about 17 minutes in when officials ordered an evacuation.

Let's go ahead and blame the delay in Friday's Sporting Kansas City-Houston Dynamo match on the apocalypse. At least, that's probably the best way to describe the weather that has descended upon Sporting Park on Friday evening.

So, yeah, match officials did the only sensible thing and ordered all the players off the pitch and directed all the fans to get out of the stands while this passes. The match was about 17 minutes in when it became obvious that conditions were about to get rather unsafe.

Officials were hoping to resume the game at about 8:45 p.m. local time.
