Hibernian goalkeeper scores match-winning goal in debut

Mark Oxley’s Hibernian debut could not have gone any better.

Mark Runnacles

Mark Oxley is a goalkeeper on loan at Hibernian from Hull. So when he took to the pitch in the Scottish Premier League opener, the game plan was simple: don’t concede a goal.

But Oxley threw a wrinkle in it: score a goal.

And score a goal he did. Oxley found the net 16 minutes into his Hibernian career.

The goal gave Hibs a 2-0 lead and with Livingston pulling one back for a 2-1 final scoreline, it means Oxley scored the winning goal.

Mark Oxley: goalkeeper, goal scorer, Hiberian hero, champion of the sport.
