Lewis Holtby looks to have one foot in the door at Hamburger SV:

The midfielder, deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs, will have a medical at Hamburg today.
Lewis Holtby will undergo his HSV medical this morning. One-year loan deal with option to sign him permanently next summer.

Deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane, he spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, in a fruitless effort to help the Whites stay up.
Holtby doesn't seem to fit into Mauricio Pochettino's plans, either. The midfielder has been linked with Everton, Queens Park Rangers and more, but it appears he'd rather a move back to Germany.
HSV have spent the summer attempting to shore up their squad after suffering the humiliation of a relegation play-out last season. But after losing 3-0 to newly-promoted Paderborn this weekend, it looks like they’ve still got plenty of work to do.
