Fabio Borini’s move from Liverpool to QPR hits snag

QPR and Fabio Borini are some ways off an agreement despite the Hoops agreeing a transfer fee with Liverpool

Michael Regan

Liverpool have been trying to get rid of striker Fabio Borini all summer. Having agreed a transfer fee with Sunderland early on in transfer season, the Reds were disappointed to see the deal fall through thanks to Borini's refusal to join the Black Cats. And now, with just hours to go in the deadline, it sounds as though the former Chelsea academy man could be throwing another spanner in the works after Liverpool agreed a deal to send the 23-year-old to Queens Park Rangers:

That is ... quite a big difference. £58,000 per week is a very generous sum to offer a forward of Borini’s calibre, and it’s difficult to imagine QPR coming anywhere close to the kind of money that he’s apparently demanding. Unless something changes drastically -- and it would have to be on Borini’s end -- this deal seems unlikely
