Tom Cleverley will not be going to Aston VIlla. The club have given up their pursuit of the Manchester United midfielder, presumably because of his wage demands. That has been the stumbling block in the reported £8 million move for days and it appears to have killed the deal, but Cleverley is not doomed to a stay on the United bench.
Tom Cleverley will not go to Aston Villa, Everton interested
One Premier League club out, one Premier League club in.

Everton are now showing interest in Cleverley, according to Sky Sports News. The Toffees could take the midfielder off of the Red Devils' hands and give him a chance to revive his career. Cleverley spent a season playing for Roberto Martinez on loan at Wigan so they have a relationship and if any manager could set Cleverley straight, it figures to be Martinez.
The problem there could also be wages. Cleverley reportedly wants £60,000 per week, something that Everton may balk at as well. The Toffees don't need Cleverley so they can afford to wait him out and see if his demands soften a bit. Meanwhile, it appears as if Cleverley is willing to wait until the deadline too, not exhibiting any panic as the close of the transfer window nears.
