According to African football journalist Gary Al-Smith, Ghana will be parting ways with manager Akwasi Appiah. He was given a new two-year contract prior to the World Cup, but recent results have caused the Ghanaian FA to make a change.

— Gary Al-Smith (@garyalsmith) September 11, 2014 Despite solid performances at the World Cup, Ghana's participation in the tournament was most notable for a pay dispute, and they failed to get out of a group of death including Germany, Portugal and the United States. During the most recent international break, Ghana drew at home against Uganda in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. They won their next match away to Togo, but apparently the combination of team unrest at the World Cup and the Uganda result sealed Appiah's fate.
His reported replacement, Milovan Rajevac, has managed Ghana before. The Serbian manager took Ghana to the Africa Cup of Nations final and World Cup quarterfinals during his spell as manager.
