Manchester United defender Phil Jones will miss a month with hamstring injury

Louis van Gaal’s injury woes continued on Friday with the news that Phil Jones has suffered a torn hamstring.

Manchester United's injury problems worsened yet again on Friday with the news that defender Phil Jones will be out for up to a month with a torn hamstring. Jones suffered the injury while on international duty in England's Euro 2016 qualifying win over Switzerland.

It's yet another setback for the United defense who have yet to be fully healthy this season at any point. Jones has been the one consistent option for Louis van Gaal this season, starting in all three of United's league matches so far, both in the middle of his three-man back line and on the left.

While losing Jones is a blow for Van Gaal in terms of defensive depth, it's not all bad news on the injury/availability front. Luke Shaw is set to return and make his United debut, while new signings Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo should also be available for selection as well.
