— Sky Sports News HQ (@SkySportsNewsHQ) September 12, 2014 It's yet another setback for the United defense who have yet to be fully healthy this season at any point. Jones has been the one consistent option for Louis van Gaal this season, starting in all three of United's league matches so far, both in the middle of his three-man back line and on the left.
While losing Jones is a blow for Van Gaal in terms of defensive depth, it's not all bad news on the injury/availability front. Luke Shaw is set to return and make his United debut, while new signings Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo should also be available for selection as well.
