EPL Scores: City draws Arsenal, Diego Costa scores a hat-trick for Chelsea

Diego Costa scored the season’s first hat-trick, Everton got their first win, and Arsenal squandered a late lead against Manchester City. Just another Saturday in the Premier League.

There were plenty of goals on Saturday in the Premier League including the first hat-trick of the young season.

Arsenal and Manchester City played a 2-2 draw in a thrilling early match between two of the teams that are expected to be at or near the top of the league this season. Sergio Agüero's 28th minute goal gave City a lead that they kept until the 63rd minute when Jack Wilshere equalized for the Gunners. Ten minutes later, Alexis Sánchez put Arsenal in front, but the lead wouldn't last thanks to a header from Martín Demichelis seven minutes from full time.

Chelsea fell behind early against Swansea City but roared back for a 4-2 win behind a sensational showing from summer signing Diego Costa. Costa evened the math just before halftime and completed the EPL's first hat-trick of the campaign in the second half.

Southampton thumped an extremely poor Newcastle United 4-0, while Everton picked up their first win and first clean sheet of the season with a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur looked on their way to a victory over Sunderland thanks to goals from Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen, but a Harry Kane own-goal in the 82nd minute saved a point for the Black Cats.
