Valencia and Sevilla confirmed their good start of the season with comfortable home wins against Espanyol and Getafe. Villarreal only managed to get a 0-0 in Granada while Elche were able to beat Rayo Vallecano away in what was a worrying match for Paco Jémez's men.
La Liga scores: Valencia and Sevilla get easy home wins

Rayo Vallecano 2-3 Elche
Elche, with all due respect, seem like the kind of team Rayo Vallecano should beat at home in order to avoid relegation for the third consecutive season under Paco Jémez. Chelsea loanee Gaël Kakuta was brilliant for the Vallecas side, but Elche’s consistency was enough to earn the three points. Alberto Bueno scored from the penalty spot in added time to cut Elche’s lead, but Rayo were finally not able to pull out the miracle and savage a point.
Valencia 3-1 Espanyol
Alcácer keeps looking great as he scored yet another goal. Peter Lim's new club are just two points away from Barcelona in the Liga BBVA table after collecting two wins in a row against Málaga and Espanyol. This time, Espanyol proved how bad they're missing Mexican coach Javier Aguirre. Los periquitos entered the relegation zone after this loss and it seems that they will be fighting to avoid relegation this season. On the other hand, Valencia are yet to rely on new signing Álvaro Negredo, but Paco Alcácer, Dani Parejo and Rodrigo seem to be content enough so far. Beware, this Valencia side is for real and will definitely compete for a spot in next season's Champions League.
Sevilla 2-0 Getafe
The reigning Europe League champions are also two points behind Barcelona in the table, and Unai Emery has built yet another interesting and quick squad after Ivan Rakitic's departure. On the other hand, Getafe gave up as soon as Carlos Bacca scored a penalty after a questionable decision by goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. After that, Emery's team controlled the game brilliantly and put the nail on Getafe's coffin in the 87th minute. When they're given the chance to counterattack, Sevilla are dangerous.
Granada 0-0 Villarreal
One could've expected a win for Villarreal, but Joaquín Caparrós has built a good Granada squad. The Andalusian have won one game out of three, drawing the last two matches, but that's good enough to be 6th in the table. These were 90 minutes designed by Caparrós, who always likes to play well defensively. Granada contained Villarreal's efforts to score and the game ended 0-0 in what probably was the worst game of this Liga BBVA weekend so far.
