With the Champions League here once again and Barcelona sitting pretty on top of the table in La Liga after three games, Lionel Messi is ready to show off once again. The occasion is upon us and for it, adidas have created another custom boot colorway for the best (arguably) best player in the world.
Lionel Messi’s new Champions League boot is a greatest hits compilation
Messi’s new boot is based on the current adidas F50 adiZero and, of course, the most recent Messi colorway, which made its debut just weeks after the World Cup Final and weeks before the start of the current season. That design is front and center and spans the toe area. Moving back towards the heel, the boot features three additional, thick, horizontal bands with each in a specific color moving from green to blue to red.
The boot represents Barcelona, the Champions League and a number of Lionel Messi's achievements. Those include his Golden Boot awards, Champions League hat tricks, and the occasions that saw him lift one of the sport's most famous trophies.
Messi will show off his new footwear in action on Wednesday with Barcelona opening their Champions League campaign against APOEL Nicosia of Cyprus at the Camp Nou.
