Real Madrid vs. FC Basel live stream: How to watch the UEFA Champions League online

A year after winning La Decima, becoming the first team to ever lift the European Cup 10 times, Real Madrid have their sights set on another record -- becoming the first team in the modern era of the competition to repeat as champions. President Florentino Perez will like his team's chances to do just that after making some flashy summer signings, but early league results suggest that Madrid might have some trouble with Tuesday's opponent, FC Basel (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX regional networks).

Real Madrid signed the biggest star available in the transfer market this summer, adding World Cup golden ball winner James Rodriguez. They also made a big splash by adding Toni Kroos, but they're looking thin in midfield. Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso are gone, so Los Merengues have been getting ripped up through the center with Kroos playing as a makeshift defensive midfielder.

Sami Khedira is out injured on Tuesday, adding to Madrid's midfield woes. They'll also be without right back Dani Carvajal, while Jese Rodriguez is still working his way back from a serious knee injury. Basel's biggest miss is star midfielder Marcelo Diaz, one of Chile's best players at the World Cup, who is suspended.

There are multiple ways to catch this game online in the United States, in both English and Spanish. The Watch ESPN app will have the Spanish-language ESPN Deportes feed, but unfortunately, that’s it. You’ll need to be an ESPN Deportes subscriber to watch. This is not one of the games that is sublicensed to ESPN3 for English-language broadcast without a TV subscription.

If you prefer to watch in English or don’t have access to the game via Watch ESPN, there are two other options. If you’re a TV subscriber to a FOX Sports regional network that is showing the game, you can watch for free on FOX Sports Go. Your other option for watching the game online is FOX Soccer 2 Go, which is a paid service that does not require a TV subscription.

The game will be streaming on SkyGo in the U.K., while Sportsnet World Now will have the stream in Canada. For listings from other countries, check out LiveSoccerTV.
