Much of the narrative surrounding Liverpool has been about whether or not they'll be able to handle a more congested schedule with more competitive matches this season. Well, the scheduling gods have been kind to them on their return to the UEFA Champions League. They shouldn't have much of a problem with Ludogorets at home (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 2).
Liverpool vs. Ludogorets live stream: How to watch the UEFA Champions League online
Liverpool look like a very deep team this year, as they opted to replace Luis Suarez with half a new squad, rather than one star. They're looking a bit shaky at the moment, though, having lost to Aston Villa midweek. They'll need to gel quickly to meet their fans' expectations, but meanwhile, their opponents are just happy to be here. Ludogorets qualified for the group stage with a miracle playoff win, featuring position player Cosmin Moti pulling off some heroics in goal.
Because Ludogorets are without their first and second-choice goalkeepers, Liverpool should have no problem scoring a few goals on Tuesday. However, they're without first choice striker Daniel Sturrudge, as well as Lazar Markovic, Emre Can and Glen Johnson.
Much to the likely dismay of American Liverpool fans, this is not one of the games that FOX sublicensed to ESPN, so the game will not be available on ESPN3 or Watch ESPN like today’s other Champions League games. There are two options for watching the game online through FOX’s services.
The first is FOX Sports Go, which will be free if your provider participates. If you are a TV subscriber to FOX Sports 2, you can catch the game live on that app. If you don’t have access to FOX Sports Go, you can also catch the game on FOX Soccer 2 Go, a paid service that does not require a TV subscription.
In Canada, the game is streaming on Sportsnet World Now, while the ITV Player is the place to watch in the U.K. For listings from other countries, check out LiveSoccerTV.
