Thailand's women's national team slumped to a 5-0 loss to South Korea in their opening match of the Asian Games. It was a pretty thorough beatdown. And worthy of a bonus.
Thailand women’s team given bonus for only losing 5-0
Sometimes you can win by losing.

The Thailand FA gave the team a 100,000 Thai baht ($6,200) bonus for only losing by five goals to the Koreans.
“We fared better in the second half,” the FA president told the Nation newspaper. “The association had planned to give the team 200,000 baht ($6,200) if they won the match, but, for the players’ efforts, we decided to hand them 100,000 as consolation.”
Just how outmatched were the Thais? The manager offered 1,000,000 baht to anyone who could score on the Koreans.
So maybe 5-0 really isn’t too bad.
At least Thailand should have a chance in their next match against Maldives, who were beaten by India 15-0 in their opener. The Thailand and Maldives FA’s may offer bonuses for completed passes in that contest.
