Juventus vs. Malmö: Lineups

Kwadwo Asamoah starts in the centre of midfield as Juventus open their Champions League campaign against Malmö

There are no real surprises in Juventus' starting lineup as the Italian champions open their Champions League campaign at home to Sweden's Malmö FF.

Injuries to Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal, combined with the suspension of Roberto Pereyra, means Kwadwo Asamoah has been shifted infield from his natural position as a wing-back. He forms a central midfield trio with Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio, in Juve's typical 3-5-2 formation.

Malmö appear to be trying to beat Juve by mirroring their formation. Coach Åge Hareide has set his side out in a 3-4-1-2 formation, despite them tending to use a 4-4-2 in domestic competition.

Juventus (3-5-2): Gianluigi Buffon; Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Martín Cáceres; Patrice Evra, Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio, Kwadwo Asamoah, Stephan Lichtsteiner; Carlos Tévez, Fernando Llorente.

Malmö (3-4-1-2): Robin Olsen; Filip Helander, Markus Halsti, Erik Johansson; Pa Konate, Emil Forsberg, Magnus Eriksson, Anton Tinnerholm; Enoch Adu; Isaac Thelin, Markus Rosenberg.
