Bayern Munich vs. Manchester City lineups: Confirmed teams feature surprises

Rafinha and Mehdi Benatia are surprisingly fit for Bayern Munich, while Manchester City have left Sergio Aguero out.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich have announced their lineups for their UEFA Champions League match (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 1), and there are a few oddities.

Much to the surprise of just about everyone, Rafinha and Mehdi Benatia are fit to start this game. Bayern's team suggests that they'll spend most of their time playing with a back four, but Philipp Lahm and David Alaba can both drop into defense, so don't be shocked to see a back three, or a defense that changes shapes regularly.

City have opted to keep Sergio Aguero on the bench, instead opting to start both Samir Nasri and David Silva. This suggests that they think they can keep the ball against Bayern, which is ... well, it's odd.

Bayern Munich starting lineup (4-3-2-1): Manuel Neuer; Juan Bernat, Jerome Boateng, Mehdi Benatia, Rafinha; David Alaba, Xabi Alonso, Philipp Lahm; Thomas Müller, Mario Götze; Robert Lewandowski

Manchester City starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Joe Hart; Gael Clichy, Martin Demichelis, Vincent Kompany, Bacary Sagna; Fernandinho, Yaya Toure; Samir Nasri, David Silva, Jesus Navas; Edin Dzeko
