A man who racked up £15,000 in bills while impersonating Gael Kakuta is now in custody. According to the Mail, police caught the man who was spending like crazy, apparently on the credit of looking like an average footballer.
Gael Kakuta impersonator arrested after racking up £15,000 in bills
Of all the players in the world, Gael Kakuta.

Medi Abalimba, 25, pretended to be the Frenchman while in London, getting a room at the Mandarin Oriental, then spending £9,600 at another hotel before dropping £5,000 at a club. It’s remarkable how much you can spend on credit because you look somewhat like a professional.
And how did Abalimba get caught? Because he tried to give out shoes as a tip.
Police were able to pull his fingerprints off of a pair of Harvey Nichols shoes that he gave out in lieu of a tip. Once found, he confessed to the fraud.
Some important things to consider here:
1. Gael Kakuta is barely big enough, having played for Chelsea, to get cool things, but insignificant enough that people aren't quite sure what he looks like so they would believe an impersonator. That was well done.
2. Why go to two hotels? You’re just creating more witnesses.
3. You have an unlimited credit on account of being a professional footballer and you only drop £5,000 at the club? That’s amateur. You go big, with Cristal and Dom and do not leave until you’ve dropped £15,000. That should have been the first tip off that he was a fraud.
4. Why is he carrying Harvey Nichols shoes around with him?
5. WHY IS HE TIPPING WITH SHOES?!
