Neymar substituted against Levante with ankle injury

The Brazilian striker left Barelona’s match early in the second half in what appears to be a precautionary move.

Neymar was substituted out of Barcelona's match against Levante on Sunday in the 51st minute after suffering what appears to be a minor ankle injury. The Brazilian striker had apparently turned his ankle earlier in the match before having it landed up by Levnate defender Toño after two players got tangled up battling for a loose ball.

Neymar spent a couple minutes on the ground, prompting the Barca physio to signal the bench for a sub. Sandro Ramirez was sent out in Neymar’s place, but the Brazilian was up and walking by that point and apparently none to pleased with the decision to remove him from the game.

At this point, the move seems like a precaution and Neymar was showing no obvious signs of discomfort as he walked around the pitch to the bench. He'll likely be evaluated in the next couple days, but there's no reason to believe at this point that he won't be available for Barca's next match against Málaga on Wednesday.
