So much for Paderborn's miracle run to the top of the Bundesliga table. Between their recent performances and Bayern Munich's struggles at the weekend, it wasn't outrageous to think that Paderborn might put up a fight on Tuesday, but they were very thoroughly beaten.
Bundesliga scores, Week 5: Comfortable wins for Bayern Munich, Schalke

The other big side in action was Schalke, and they were similarly untested on Tuesday.
Werder Bremen 0-3 Schalke
Werder look like they might genuinely be battling relegation this season. They actually held a clean sheet through the first half, but the floodgates opened on early in the second. Max Meyer scored in the 48th minute and Roman Neustädter added a second just three minutes after that. Tranquillo Barnetta capped off the scoring in the 85th minute.
Bayern Munich 4-0 Paderborn
To the shock of just about everyone, Pep Guardiola set his team up in a fairly sensible 4-2-3-1 formation with David Alaba as a left back. The game was effectively over very quickly, with Mario Götze and Robert Lewandowski scoring inside the first 20 minute. Bayern piled on more late, with Götze adding a second in the 78th minute and Thomas Müller getting on the board after that.
Hoffenheim 3-3 Freiburg
The great thing about games with teams who feel they’re likely mid-table sides is that they have no reason to be afraid of each other, and actually play some football. Mike Frantz stunned Hoffenheim with two goals in three minutes, putting Freiburg up 2-0 by scoring in the 31st and 33rd minutes. Hoffenheim fought back into the game by scoring the next two goals, but gave away a penalty in the 75th minute, which was converted by Vladimir Darida. But with the last kick of the game, Jannik Vestergaard scored for Hoffenheim, snatching a point.
The last five minutes of the first half was a stunning up-and-down goalfest, with Mainz scoring twice in a row and Frankfurt pulling one back just before the whistle. Jonas Hofmann and Shinji Okazaki put the visitors up two, but Alexander Meier found the back of the net for Eintracht in first half stoppage time. Late in the second half, Haris Seferovic found an equalizer for the hosts.
