Juventus vs. Cesena: Time, TV schedule and game preview

Juventus should comfortably see off Serie A minnows Cesena in Turin on Wednesday.

Dino Panato

So far, so good for Juventus. Under new coach Max Allegri they were expected to suffer a dip in form, though they've managed to maintain a 100% win record in all competitions. Don't expect that to change on Wednesday, as the bianconeri host newly-promoted Cesena at the Juventus Stadium. The Emilian minnows are strong relegation candidates, even if they're currently sat comfortably in mid-table.

Key player - Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

Juventus will have star midfielder Arturo Vidal back at their disposal for this match. In his absence, summer signing Roberto Pereyra has performed outstandingly, though there's no one in the world quite as good in a marauding box-to-box role as Vidal. Cesena will struggle to create anything through the middle as long as the Chilean is patrolling the field.

Key matchup - Carlos Tevez vs. the Cesena defence

However, Juventus' most dangerous attacking threat is Carlos Tevez, who has scored four goals in as many games this season. The Argentine is a perfect partner for Fernando Llorente, with Tevez's mobility and sublime technical skill combining with the strength and aerial presence of his Spanish partner. He's nigh-on impossible to keep quiet, but keep him quiet is exactly what Cesena have to try and do.

Juventus injuries and suspensions

Out: Andrea Pirlo, Luca Marrone, Martín Cáceres, Andrea Barzagli (injured). In doubt: None.

Cesena injuries and suspensions

Out: Giuseppe De Feudis, Nico Pulzetti, Andrea Tabanelli, Riccardo Cazzola (injured). In doubt: None.

Juve will still be without midfield star Andrea Pirlo, youngster Luca Marrone, and centre-backs Martín Cáceres and Andrea Barzagli. Meanwhile, Cesena have a string of experienced first-teamers out, with injuries to Giuseppe De Feudis, Nico Pulzetti, Andrea Tabanelli and Riccardo Cazzola leaving the Emilians’ midfield looking very stretched.
