“How did you lose?”
Olympiacos win because of hilarious own goal

“I kicked it into my own goal. From two yards. With no pressure.”
Giannis Kargas did not have a good day.
He had a chance to clear the ball by either: tapping it over the endline for a corner kick, hitting it across for a throw-in, blasting a clearance up field or even taking a few dribbles and looking for a pass. Instead, he crushed it into his own net.
That came in the 74th minute and put his team, Panachaiki, down 1-0. It made him the team’s biggest cheerleader for the remaining 16 minutes. They had to score. It was bad enough that he had scored a hilarious own goal, but if it was the only goal in the match? Oof.
And it was. Olympiacos held onto the 1-0 lead to win the match and eliminate Panachaiki from the Greek Cup.
Poor Kargas. He needs a hug, but at least he made us laugh.
