Manchester City are in a rough patch. The defending champions haven't won in the league since August, drawing twice and losing one of their last three, and the most recent news is hardly positive. Manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that French midfielder Samir Nasri is set for a month-long layoff with a groin problem, confirming in a press conference on Friday that the former Arsenal man would need surgery.
Surgery to force Manchester City’s Samir Nasri to the sidelines
Samir Nasri has been ruled out for a month with a groin problem, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.

“It’s serious because [Nasri] will have surgery in the next days. I’m not a doctor but he will be out for around one month. He was training but he wasn’t 100 percent and he wasn’t comfortable with what he was doing so the doctor decided it was the best option.”
Without Nasri, City will almost certainly be forced to turn to James Milner on the flank at some point in October, which isn't great news for a team that's been struggling to score. With just eight goals through their first five games -- good, but well below their lofty standards -- Pellegrini's attack needs a boost. Instead, they've lost one of their more creative forces, at least for the time being.
Let’s see how they fare.
