A quiet Sunday in La Liga saw Real Sociedad earning a good 1-1 draw against Valencia. Almería managed to get a road win at La Coruña and Getafe held their own at home against Málaga. The Córdoba-Espanyol game that concluded this Liga BBVA weekend was as boring as you can imagine.
La Liga scores, week 6: Valencia and Real Sociedad draw in thrilling clash

Getafe 1-0 Málaga
Málaga are a far better side than Getafe, but today Cosmin Contra's pupils were able to contain the efforts of a Málaga squad who did not hit the target. Míchel put the hosts ahead on the 25th minute and Getafe never looked back as Málaga's offensive tries were helpless. It was as if Málaga played conservatively after earning a brilliant 0-0 against Barcelona last weekend.
Deportivo 0-1 Almería
Deportivo are in deep trouble. They've lost the last three matches --one of which was Real's blowout 2-8 victory and the other was the Galician derby against Celta Vigo-- and they are in the verge of entering the relegation zone. Furthermore, Almería dominated the whole game but it looked as if Deportivo were going to at least get a good 0-0 draw --and a point-- until Mendez scored the game-winning goal in added time. A huge blow for Deportivo, and there might be more in store as they visit Sevilla next week.
Real Sociedad 1-1 Valencia
One of the weekend’s most exciting matches, as Real Sociedad were finally the team to cause Valencia some trouble in this Liga BBVA campaign. In fact, Valencia can consider this draw a miracle. Only goalkeeper Diego Alves allowed his team to walk away with a point in their pockets. Him and Paco Alcácer, of course. The striker has been the biggest surprise of the season so far, and today he assisted Carles Gil brilliantly just when Valencia were struggling the most. After that opening goal, Real Sociedad gathered back their composure, scored the equaliser and had chances to get the win. Valencia can consider themselves lucky after this match at Anoeta.
Córdoba 0-0 Espanyol
The home side played better, but they never attacked convincingly either. Consider their situation in the table, Córdoba seemed always happy to get a point and start building some confidence around this draw right before visiting Getafe. On the other hand, Espanyol had some room to work after beating Getafe last week, so that’s how someone could explain why both teams settled for a point.
