Player knocks red card out of referee’s hands

Rejected!

Guingamp have lost six of their first eight matches. They are at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table. They really have nothing to lose, and they probably aren’t exactly clear on how football works anyway.

So when the referee tried to send off goalkeeper Mamdoi Samassa, Benjamin Angoua figured, “if he doesn’t have the red card, he can’t show it.”

And it worked!

So the ref recovered the red card and showed the red card. He still gets credit for the block.
