Southampton beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday, and the game was awesome. Here are three things that were particularly awesome.

1. Manchester United are arrogant as all hell
That’s Chris Smalling, hardly regarded as a technical marvel, running at a striker with the ball at his feet. There’s no one covering for him. Michael Carrick is not getting back if Smalling gives the ball away here. He didn’t give the ball away, and this was part of a minute-plus long uninterrupted spell of possession for United. Their cocky play was pretty great.
2. Dušan Tadić says screw you
If you were watching this game wondering why Southampton didn’t play Tadić from the start, that’s why. Shouts to Grantland’s Mike Goodman for calling this before the dang game started.
Tadic v tired legs in the last 20 should be a good thing for Southampton.
