Thomas Müller: Can be tougher to win in Bayern training than in Bundesliga

He’s not wrong.

Bayern Munich are really good. Like really, really good. But are they so good that they are better in training than other Bundesliga teams are in, well, matches?

Thomas Müller says so. At least usually.

“We have a very high level in training,” Müller told the DPA news agency.

“It is often more difficult to win against our training team than perhaps against a team in the Bundesliga.”

Seeing as Bayern have won the last two Bundesliga titles, as well as the last two DFB-Pokals, not to mention the UEFA Champions League two years ago, and you could see where Müller has a point.

There’s also the matter of some combination of Müller, Robert Lewandowski, Mario Götze, Xabi Alonso, Mehdi Benatia, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sebastian Rode being second choice because football has this absurd rule where only 11 players can play at once. Oh, and the likes of Javi Martinez, David Alaba and Holger Badstuber are still hurt.

So yes, Müller is throwing some serious shade. Some serious, 100 percent correct shade.
