Stoke City got some horrible news Tuesday, learning that attacker Bojan Krkić will be out for the rest of the season. He sustained a left knee injury in an FA Cup win over Rochdale, which was later confirmed to be a torn ACL. He'll have surgery, which will keep him out through May and possibly hinder his preseason preparation as well.
Bojan Krkić out for the season with ACL tear
The left knee injury will require surgery to repair.

Before picking up the injury, Bojan had just scored an absolutely stunning goal. He was entering some of the best form of his career and it’ll be a tough road back to his current level of performance.
Bojan looked like an inspired signing for Stoke this summer and it was a joy watching him live up to the hype. The former Barcelona wonderkid was poor in loan spells at AS Roma and AC Milan, but last season’s solid performances for Ajax created a market for his services in top leagues again, and Stoke signed him up for just under €2m.
While Bojan has never been a speedster, he is a tricky player who relies on his agility, and 24 is a pretty bad age to pick up a knee injury. Every ACL tear recovery is different, but he’s probably facing a difficult fight to become a clear first choice player for a Premier League side again.
