Serie A results round 21: Juventus and Roma stumble, Napoli win

It’s a tight race for the Champions League positions, but nearly every team chasing them dropped points.

It’s barely February, yet we seem to already have clear ideas not only on who will win the title, but on who will be playing in Serie B next season. If Roma can’t pull off some magic (or pay off some officials), Juventus are looking good to win their fourth consecutive scudetto. On the opposite end of the table, Parma need a miracle to avoid the drop. But, despite all that, there is still plenty of reasons to keep watching -- although this week, it’s not so much about the teams but about individual personalities.

Like Mario Gomez. And not just because of his perfect hair. Gomez has finally started to score goals! Which means we can once again press the Mario button! When he's not scoring, he's missing sitters and almost scoring own goals, so at least you get to have some laughs. But seriously, after a few weeks of putting in semi-decent performances but failing to score, Gomez has now managed to score in two consecutive matches and, with Juan Cuadrado heading to Chelsea, Fiorentina will depend even more on his goals as they look to challenge for third.

Udinese vs. Juventus

Then there is Paul Pogba. Yes, we’ve written odes to him on more than one occasion, but it’s not our fault he routinely scores goals like this. The Frenchmen is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players in the world right now, and as much as you might not like Juventus and as much as it feels there’s no real contest for the scudetto, do yourself a favor, watch Pogba doing things -- any things -- on the pitch. You’ll thank us for it later. Udinese, however, will likely be left sobbing in humiliation.

AC Milan vs. Parma

Watch: RAI International, beIN SPORTS CONNECT (USA); ESPN UK; Premium Calcio, Sky Calcio 1, Premium Play (Italy)

The key man here -- not in a good way -- is Filippo Inzaghi. Superpippo certainly is not the only reason why Milan are faltering. He’s likely not even the main one, but the level of confusion his team has been in this last couple of weeks is impressive. To make things even more fun, the only team in the whole league that looks even more lost is coming to San Siro. This match may not be at the highest level when it comes to quality of the game, but it has all the potential to be a really fun game. After all, last time around this game gave us nine goals, with Milan barely nudging a 5-4 win.
