The magic of the FA Cup means a crowdsurfing mascot at Wimbledon

Mascots in some sports are cool and fun and entertaining. In football, they tend to be ... awkward, at best. Sometimes they’re actually rather terrifying. League Two side Wimbledon seem to have their mascot game figured out, though.

That's Womble, Wimbledon's rather bizarre but fun mascot. After the Dons went down 1-0 to Liverpool early in their FA Cup match, Womble decided to lift the crowd's spirits by having them lift him and carry him around the stands. A strange sight, to be sure, but it certainly got the fans energized, which everyone heard loud and clear when Wimbledon equalized just before halftime.

Rumors that the person inside Womble is actually Vinnie Jones could not be confirmed.
