Dante to Müller: stop making fun of Germany’s World Cup beat down on Brazil

Too soon. Still, too soon.

When you get nutmegged, the person who did it to you has every right to make fun of you for it until the day you die. In fact, he should be banished from football if he doesn’t. You should never live it down and if he wanted to put photos up in the dressing room of your football career dying, he would have every right to do so.

And when you win 7-1 in a World Cup semifinal, all of that is doubly true, which is why Thomas Müller was just doing his human duties when he repeatedly made fun of Dante for the beat down Germany laid on Brazil last summer.

Unfortunately, Dante couldn’t take it anymore.

“After [Germany] were champions and we came back, Thomas Muller, who always likes to play here and there, made some jokes,” Dante told Globo. “Then I came to him and said, ‘We can joke, but for me that’s not cool, it’s not time yet.’”

I suppose there can be an exception in the event of getting crushed on home soil in the most anticipated World Cup the country has ever had that left a nation of 200 million in a state of despair.

Give Dante a hug, Thomas.
