City head into the match as clear favorites: Manuel Pellegrini’s side is made up of well-seasoned Champions League players, while reigning Europa League champions Sevilla are still getting used to the rigors of facing world football’s crème de la crème every other week. However, City have had an unfortunate tendency to shoot themselves in the foot in this tournament, and their Spanish visitors will be hoping for another helpful slip-up here.

If he's at his best here, Sevilla could struggle to keep him quiet.

The Spanish side's task is made even harder by the presence of not just one playmaking presence, but two. De Bruyne has impressed since arriving from Wolfsburg in the summer, with his goalscoring knack and excellent range of passing helping him to immediately establish himself as one of their most important attackers. It'll be up to Sevilla's highly rated defensive midfielder Krychowiak to stop him in this match.

The same can’t be said for their visitors, who will be without defenders Carriço and Escudero, as well as Kakuta. His midfield counterpart Luismi remains a doubt, as does experienced striker Llorente, who reached the final of this competition with Juventus last season.
