The top of the Premier League table is knotted up closely, with Manchester United sitting just two points off the pace in fourth place. Despite a difficult-looking trip to London to face Crystal Palace, they must find a way to win this match in order to, at worst, keep pace with the rest of the pack in the title hunt right now. Falling behind could prove problematic at best and disastrous at worst, because this season is shaping up to be a close-run sprint all the way to the finish.
Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Manchester United can’t afford to drop points so close to the top of the table, but a trip to Crystal Palace won’t be easy.

Of course, Crystal Palace aren’t too far off that hunt themselves. They were in the thick of it before a recent drop in form, but at five points back of Manchester United, they just need a couple positive results to get back into the hunt. Starting things off by beating a rival ahead of them in the pecking order would be a fantastic way to do that, and Alan Pardew’s side has just the kind of fight in them needed to pull this off. The end result of this match is far from certain right now -- the only thing we can guarantee is that it won’t be boring.
Key player -- Anthony Martial (Manchester United)
Martial has had some incredibly bright moments for Manchester United this season, but he’s also disappeared at times as well. With Wayne Rooney almost always a disappointment, however, the task falls to Martial to try to pick up the slack -- a task at which he is very capable, though he’s struggled to consistently perform it. If he steps up today, Manchester stand an excellent chance of getting the win they want. If not, it could be another difficult day for Louis Van Gaal’s team.
Key matchup -- Bakary Sako (Crystal Palace) vs. Matteo Darmian (Manchester United)
Whether Sako starts on the left wing or as a second striker, he’s going to be spending a lot of time drifting out wide and cutting in. He’s been very effective for Palace this season as a versatile and dangerous attacker, and Darmian will need to be on his game. The Italian fullback has generally been quite good this season since joining Manchester, but he’s had a couple of clunkers here and there as he’s had to swap between the right and left sides a bit. If he’s off his game today, Sako could prove to be very problematic for the Red Devils.
Crystal Palace injuries and suspensions
Out: Connor Wickham, Marouane Chamakh, Kwesi Appiah In doubt: Yannick Bolasie, Jason Puncheon, Yohan Cabaye, Pape Souare
Manchester United injuries and suspensions
Out: Memphis Depay, Antonio Valencia, James Wilson, Patrick McNair, Luke Shaw
While Manchester have been dealing with their defensive absences for awhile now without too much trouble, the loss of Depay and Wilson leaves their attacking depth rather thin. They’re better off than Palace are, though, who have two key rotation members out and three other starters or reserves working at less than 100 percent. If Cabaye in particular isn’t deemed fit to play, Palace could be in trouble.
