The great version of Philippe Coutinho has returned just to screw with Chelsea

Plus everything else from Saturday in the Premier League.

Liverpool fans will have been dreaming of top four before Saturday, and would have kept doing so even if they lost. But after they defeated their main rival for fourth place -- Chelsea -- away from home, they’ll consider themselves the favorites. Especially as long as Philippe Coutinho is in form, scoring ridiculous goals.

Elsewhere, West Ham got exposed, Leicester kept rolling and Manchester United were really boring.

Saturday’s scores

Chelsea 1-3 Liverpool
Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United
Manchester City 2-1 Norwich City
Newcastle 0-0 Stoke City
Swansea City 0-3 Arsenal
Watford FC 2-0 West Ham United
West Bromwich Albion 2-3 Leicester City

Philippe Coutinho is alive

Liverpool’s up-and-coming superstar from last season got off to a great start this year. Then he fell off a cliff and Brendan Rodgers got fired. Now, it seems Jürgen Klopp has brought him back to life. This was the first of his two goals against Chelsea as part of a well deserved win for Liverpool.

So, how’s it going at Newcastle?

Aww, man.

Manchester United are out here on some Ambien ish

Louis van Gaal’s possession as defense philosophy is likely to guide Manchester United into the top four, and it might be great for Champions League knockout stages, but it’s awful to watch at the moment. With Wayne Rooney’s poor touch and lack of pace up top, the team doesn’t have any bite to them, and their philosophy only makes him harder to watch.

Okay, enough of that. Back to cool things.

Welcome back to the Troy Deeney Appreciation Society

We’ve written about Troy Deeney in these pages before and we’re going to do it again. He won’t be credited for an assist on Watford’s second goal, but he should be. He wins a 50-50 header so easily that he’s able to hit a headed pass like it’s off his foot, then when he gets the ball back, plays a perfect first time through ball.

And shouts to the scorer of both goals, Odion Ighalo, who now has seven in the Premier League.

How are your goalkeepers doing, Roy Hodgson

Some games have fantastic goalkeeping. Some games are settled by brilliant goals. And some games are Norwich vs. Manchester City.

That’s the England No. 1 and another keeper capped by the Three Lions. Are you ready for Euro 2016?!?

Jamie Vardy is extremely legit

For the eighth game in a row, Jamie Vardy has scored. He has 11 on the season. He’s been the best player in the Premier League so far this year, and he doesn’t look like a fluke. The best thing about Leicester’s third goal isn’t even the finish, but the backwards run to win the ball, then the turn after he passes. Vardy does everything.
