After spending a decade as England’s top two teams, battling it out for the title every season, Manchester United and Arsenal find themselves in a slightly different spot. The pressure is on Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger ahead of their big rivalry game on Sunday, with neither team performing particularly well.
Manchester United vs. Arsenal 2015 live stream: How to watch the Premier League online
The Red Devils are desperate to keep pace with Manchester City, while Arsenal are desperate to just stay afloat.
The Gunners look to be going out of Champions League after two straight losses to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, sides they expected to beat comfortably. They’ve also lost to 16th-placed Chelsea and West Ham United this season, though they do have a North London Derby win in the League Cup to show for their efforts so far.
United lost to PSV Eindhoven in Europe, but they’ve been a little luckier than Arsenal otherwise. They scraped by Wolfsburg midweek and have recorded five wins in the league, even if fans haven’t been too impressed with the performances.
Injuries have piled up for both of these teams. Arsenal have it much worse, with six first team players missing out. Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere are all unavailable. Manchester United aren't getting off easy, though, with Luke Shaw likely out for the season, while Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo miss this match. Michael Carrick is a doubt with a knock.
